Sadly, she was not well-informed and her advice should not be followed just because she holds a license to practice medicine. It was obvious that she did not know her subject matter in the way she approached the subjects.
This is just one example of how easily people are manipulated into making uninformed choices about their healthcare. Being a medical doctor does not make you an expert. It means that you have met the requirements to practice medicine. Trusting the opinion of a doctor is one choice, but it is far better to make choices based upon accurate information, rather than opinion.

Thrilling Grilling: 7-10-2007
Summer is a fantastic time to cook outside on the Grill when it's too hot to cook indoors. Grilling comes with its share of issues and there are a few things to think about before you break out the Tongs!
Keep your food grilling on the cooler side of the Grill, so you don't char it excessively! Even if it takes longer, don't use intense heat on your food. You can get those great grill marks with time instead of heavy heat!
Don't smash your burgers...or else you'll lose the juices and dry out the meat. Add glazes and sauces near the end of the cooking time to keep them from burning.
If you do char your food, there are measures to take that will keep Grilling healthy. So with your Tofu Pups amd your Garden Burgers, try a lettuce wrap and sip on a China Cola to assist digestion!
However, should you find you have crispy-critters; be sure to add some extra source of vitamins C, E, or other anti-oxidants to compensate. Seaweed is an ideal solution...so make a seaweed salad to accompany your other dishes. Bobby Flay meets Ming Tsai in the middle of your feast! A nice olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing enhances the flavor and the nutritional value of your seaweed extravaganza.
If you do decide to grill fruit - eat it first and wait fifteen minutes before combining it with anything else. Pineapple and peaches are a nice shape for grilling. They won't easily fall through the cracks and their sweetness is super-charged with the heat.
